
Common name is Indian Curry tree or sweet neem. It is a tropical ,sub- tropical tree which belongs to family “Rutacea” whose leaves are used for seasoning in cookery. Botanically known as Murraya Koenigii .An aromatic evergreen tree or large shrub with green labrous smooth leaves,in the flowering plant family .These trees are grown alongside of the hedge of the farm, in the backyard, and in the floral garden. Since it has a great demand, farmers grow them commercially. It occupies unique position in kitchen unit for its flavour and taste in cookery.Use of curry leaves are not only limited for cookery but also has important medicinal properties including its leaf,flower,fruit,bark and roots which have been used in the traditional Ayurveda and Hindu Unani medicines.A curry tree grown at home is equal to a Vaidya, proving as a divine medicine for all ages. Ladies use these leaves with deep interest to grow their hair long and black, as they take interest in beautifying their look.Oil preparation(for hair)– A mixture of 500gms of coconut oil,100grams paste of curry leaves,50grams paste of Indian Gooseberry(Amalak), a tablespoon of fenugreek(methi), 25grams bark of the hanging roots of the Banyan tree is boiled on slow fire in a thick flat bottom vessel and cooked thoroughly till the water moisture evoparates and then decanted in cork fitted glass bottle ,when it cools to lukewarm temp which is subsequently used for healthy and black long hair growth.It enhances the beauty and occupies a great role for smoothening and removing the wrinkles. Not only it helps in glowing the skin with anti aging property but also controls the acnes and pimples.The above all ingrediants boiled in 500grams of seasame oil and to massage the body 30 minutes before bath.the skin improves and dewrinklesIf 30ml.decoction is consumed in the morning , on empty stomach, it removes the aneamiccondition,crushes the kidney stone and keeps the renal function healthy. DIabetes is also controlled. Curry leaves reduces the extra body heat and controls the offensive odour of sweat.Since it has high content of Calcium,it strengthens the bones,reduces the mental strain, and its Iron content makes the body strong.If on a regular basis a handful of cleaned Curry leaves are crushed and its juice is mixed with one glass of water after straining in thin cotton cloth and taken in the morning on empty stomach, all sorts of Cardiac problem will dissappear.Simply chewing some leaves on empty stomach controls the diabetis by reducing the sugar content in the blood.
