Plastics have became the main reason for pollution. India is the third highest polluted country. Plastic is harmful because chemicals present in plastic which give them rigidity are poisons that repel water and stick to petroleum based objects. Think once, are you not polluting? Yes, of course we are polluting our surrounding. We can carry a hand bag made of jute or cloth when we are going to market but we most of us don’t. India’s many states have banned this harmful plastic.
In 2006 report known as ‘Plastic Debris In The World’s oceans’estimated that over 400,000 marine animals have died because of plastic pollution in oceans. Not only marine mammals but also many forest animals also died by swallowing this harmful plastic.
Plastic is non-biodegradable waste. It never decomposes. Plastic is a type of waste which cannot be easily disposed. Plastics when burnt , it releases harmful toxics in the air. Plastics also causes indirect global warming.
Earth’s ozone layer is slowly weakining. Ozone is the cover for sun’s ultraviolet rays. If one of these rays fall directly on us, it can cause skin cancer. Plastic is also a reason for this. And if Antarctica’s ice melts, then all the coasts in the world will be submerged.
This harmful plastic is slow poison to us as well as our world and our planet.
